Next weekend (April 29- May 2) is time for the annual Be:Fit London health and fitness show – and I’m excited for two reasons. 1) I can go for the first time 2) I’ve got two pairs of tickets worth £50 each to giveaway thanks to the nice people at the dairy alternative range Oatly.
First let’s talk about Be:Fit London. It’s taking place at the Business Design Centre in Islington and it’s it’s got some seriously A-list health gurus speaking throughout the three days. Who you’re asking? Well, it’s people like James Duigan from Bodyism (whose worked with Elle McPherson!), Dan Roberts,a fab down-to-earth trainer who doesn’t take any crap from anyone, Amelia Freer (the women responsible for Sam Smith’s health makeover), instagram sensations Clean Eating Alice and Zanna Van Dijk who both have books coming out soon – and my personal fave Medicinal Chef Dale Pinnock, who I just love. Plus, there’s heaps of classes from super hip studios like Barry’s Bootcamp, 1Rebel and Lomax. Plus, you can stock up with goodies from over 100 brands in the shopping village – basically, it’s a health and fitness junkies ideal day out. Normally it clashes with a weekend away that I go on each year but not this year so for once I get to go which I’m looking forward to.
Oatly are sponsoring, the Oatly Kitchen, which will see cooking demonstrations from the lovely Dale, Clean Eating Alice, porridge-kings 26 Grains and more. Plus they’ve taken over the cafe which is a dream come true for those avoiding dairy.
If you don’t know what Oatly is, it’s basically a range of dairy alternatives made from oats. As well as making them therefore a great choice for anyone who avoids dairy for any reason, the range is a great source of beta-glucans which help balance the immune system. We don’t make these in the body so if you want to harness their health benefits you need to consume them via food or supplements.
I’ve used Oatly products before and particularly like them on cereal as they’re creamier than a lot of the other dairy alternatives (which also makes them great for things like chia puddings which need that extra bit of oomph to make them less frogspawn, more yummy breakfast of glee) – oh and I’m a bit obsessed with the chocolate milk drink! However the thing I’m most looking forward to seeing at Be:Fit is their dairy-free foamable lattes. These aren’t that easy to do with a non-dairy milk but Oatly have created a foamable version which means you can make frothy coffees – and, according to them, play the latte art game – which will come in handy should you need up your instagram game.
So, how do you get the tickets you’re asking? Easy – simply follow this blog (if you’re not already) and post your name in the comments section below. Be quick because the show is NEXT weekend and so I’ll be drawing the winning names at noon THIS WEDNESDAY and will post the winners names then so check in to see if it’s you as I’ll need email address tout-suite – the nice Oatly people will then send your tickets over by email ready for the show this weekend. Remember, there’s two pairs of tickets up for grabs worth £50 each – so you can take a friend as well.
