It’s a bumper month over at my page on healthista.com this month – I had lots to talk about. So what are you going to find if you head over there…..
Well there’s my new favourite buzzword vegan-curious for starters. This is basically meat eaters dipping their toes into vegan waters by googling meat, fish and dairy free foodies ideas. When I wrote the page I just thought it was a great phrase – but actually it looks like it’s actually going to be a bit of a trend next year – there’s a book coming out at the end of December by diet guru Jorge Cruise called Tiny and Full: Discover Why Only Eating a Vegan Breakfast Will Keep You Tiny and Full for Life which talks about why eating a vegan breakfast is the key to controlling weight. It’s also an approach he claims is actually better for you than going fully vegan as, it’s easier to keep balanced to reduce risk of nutrient deficiencies which can happen if you don’t do vegan well. I’m also looking forward to seeing Amber Locke’s new book on vegan salads Nourish: Vibrant salads to relish & refresh which will give us all the lunchtime vegan option – not least because it will be beautifully illustrated. I first spoke about Amber a few Christmases ago as she make amazing veggie art – but seems she’s also a whizz with how food tastes too. Also watch out for Sea-gan coming later this year…that’s vegan food most of the time with, erm, the odd bit of fish when you need it (!!?).
I’m also talking about a new online support club for those doing Dry January, the super fab new New York hotel for health nuts, the grow-in-your home lettuce garden that tells you when it needs watering (genius), vitamin delivery services, a hot new body fat measuring gizmo and my new favourite toy the glowy Nathan Light Spur which sits on your trainer and makes you visible to all.
